If there’s a fashion event, you can bet celebrities will show up looking their absolute best for the occasion. Earlier this year, H&M and MUGLER announced their collaboration on a new collection and yesterday (Wednesday, 10th March) was the official launch in Malaysia.
Local celebs posted IG stories of themselves attending the fashion event but many of them, especially the women did not receive the kindest of comments for the way they dressed that evening.

One of the Malaysian celebrities that attended the H&M and MUGLER launch yesterday was actress and host Amelia Hendersen. She caught the attention of many by wearing a sexy black mesh-pannel outfit from the collection while posing with many famous faces like actor Meerqeen, and actress Mimi Lana who donned a black body-fitting strapless dress.
Other female celebs that attended were singer Daiyan Trisha, actresses Eyka Farhana and AziraShafinaz, and models Shikin Gomez and Tuti Noor. Each of these women looked ethereal in their outfits but netizens did not seem to agree with their fashion choices. Videos and photos of these artists were posted all over social media and many left comments criticising them, especially the Malay-Muslim celebs for dressing too sexy.
As seen in the screenshots below, some accused the current Malaysian celebs in the scene of being too daring for dressing “inappropriately” for events while others joked that they were beating the scorching weather by wearing as little as possible. One netizen even left a disturbing comment suggesting that the public figures are asking to be raped.
Of course, the comments weren’t all bad as a number of netizens came to the celebs’ defense, especially Amelia saying that her skin wasn’t even exposed as she was wearing a nude-coloured body-fitting outfit underneath the mesh-panelled bodysuit.
