Local entrepreneur Dato’ Aliff Syukri is known for his lavish lifestyle, but he’s not spending all that money on himself. The polarising media personality often treats his wife, Datin Nur Shahida, with equally luxurious gifts, from handbags to jewellery.
Datin Shahida recently shared a video on her Instagram account, showing how her husband took her shopping at a local gold and jewellery store. In her captions, she wrote, “So grateful today, not sure what Aliff Syukri dreamt that he wanted to buy me some jewellery.”. The video shows the couple shopping at the store, with Aliff holding up various gold jewellery for Shahida to try on.
The video continues with Shahida trying on more jewellery, including necklaces and bracelets. At one point in the video, the mother-of-three said she doesn’t need more jewellery, to which Aliff responded, saying the gold could serve as an asset. The next scene revealed that Aliff spent RM1.5 million on jewellery for his wife before ending with a clip of the 38-year-old putting on an anklet on Shahida.
The video follows a recent feud between Shahida and local actress Rebecca Nur Islam. Earlier this year, Shahida’s mother-in-law, Rozita Ibrahim, married Rebecca’s brother, making them in-laws. However, Shahida previously alleged that Rebecca is trying to ride on Rozita’s popularity by posting the newlywed’s wedding ceremony on social media, which the Sendayu Tinggi founder asked not to. Understandably, Shahida’s statement struck a chord with Rebecca, who slammed the entrepreneur on social media.
The feud has since subsided, but both sides received criticism from netizens. As such, many see Aliff spending money on jewellery for Shahida as his way of showing support for his wife. He also previously uploaded a video, sharing gratitude towards his wife for all her hard work caring for their family and business. The comments of both videos praised Aliff for how he treats his wife, with many saying it contributed to his success.
