Local actor-director Michael Ang has always been very vocal about certain issues. Despite his outspoken persona, he’s never actually gotten into any legal trouble before. That is until a company decided to file a lawsuit against him.
During a press conference held yesterday (Wednesday, 24th July), a company known as Armani Entertainment Sdn Bhd released a statement that they are demanding Michael Ang to pay back RM500k for an alleged breach of contract. According to the CEO, Datuk KK Chua, one of the agreements stated that the producer was supposed to hire artists from their agency for a programme but failed to carry out his responsibilities.
“We had paid cash amounting to RM250,000, while another RM250,000 was used to pay for the remodelling of his house in Desa Park, Kuala Lumpur which was paid through the ‘Fix It Til You Make It’ programme. However, Michael only performed three tasks contained in the contract, namely including one soundtrack song, to provide a supporting role for an actor and to serve as a judge of the programme in six locations,” he told the press.
The businessman claimed that they’ve given Michael a chance to fulfil his promises in the 3-year agreement but he refused to do so. Due to this, the company decided to file a lawsuit against the public figure. Meanwhile, the 48-year-old responded to the allegations made saying that he’ll leave this matter to his attorney.
“No comments from my side for now. Let my lawyer handle this,” he wrote on Instagram. The producer added that he’s all too familiar with these kinds of legal situations and is grateful to have a legal team to represent him in the lawsuit. “This is nothing new but I’m thankful for my lawyer. Thank you very much for offering your help,” he stated.

According to Kosmo, Michael’s lawyer will give out a statement regarding the lawsuit soon. The first mention of this case will take place on 5th August (Monday) at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court. Stay tuned for more updates.
