Local actress Sophia Albarakbah is known for her beauty, so it’s no surprise that her parents are just as good-looking! Recently, the star gave fans a glimpse of her mother’s old photos, showcasing her stunning visuals.
Sophia shared the images in a TikTok video, with the captions, “When two worlds collided…” Upon seeing the actress’ mother, many netizens were captivated by her good looks and began asking for more pictures. Sophia obliged and shared a video containing old photos of her mother, Marina Wong. Some of the images also showed Marina during her pageant queen days.
For those who don’t know, Sophia’s mother was the third-place winner of the Miss Malaysia pageant in 1980. Marina is of Chinese descent, but converted to Islam after tying the knot. Her father, meanwhile, is of Malay, Yemeni and Persian descent. Sophia used to share many photos of her family, but rarely does so as of late, so it was likely the first time that fans saw these photos of her parents.
The TikTok video has since gone viral, with many comments praising Marina’s beauty. Many also said they can see where Sophia gets her good looks from, noting similarities in mother and daughter’s features. However, the “From Saga With Love” star lamented, “I didn’t inherit her beautiful smile and really nice teeth”. Regardless, the 31-year-old is undeniably proud of her mother, including the hashtags “#/beautifulmum” and “#/missmalaysia” in her captions.
Sophia also once spoke about the beauty tips she received from her mother. The media personality revealed that her mother was more concerned about her diet rather than the type of skincare she uses. She also said her mother would advise her to drink lots of water and get enough sleep. However, Sophia said she often lacks the latter because of her busy schedule.
