While it’s hard to prove the existence of paranormal and supernatural entities, many have experienced unexplainable encounters. During a recent talk show appearance, Hong Kong actress Michelle Wai (卫诗雅) claimed she was once possessed while filming in Malaysia.
The actress recently appeared on the ViuTV talk show, “One Beside You (晚吹 – 總有一瓣喺左近)”, where she shared about her experiences with paranormal encounters. During the episode, Michelle revealed that she once encountered a supernatural entity while filming a movie in Malaysia. While she never disclosed the film’s name, many believed that the film Michelle was filming at the time was the horror-thriller, “Walk With Me (双魂)”.
According to the actress, the movie filming took place in an abandoned mansion known for high paranormal activity. The mansion was initially closed off, but the local government allowed Malaysian filmmaker Ryon Lee to film his movie there. As a precaution, the production team arranged for a local exorcist to be stationed there during filming. The exorcist also warned the crew not to film on the second floor of the mansion, citing overwhelming paranormal activity.
Once, a crew member joked about exploring the second floor out of curiosity. Michelle said shortly after the crew members made that remark, a bottle of water fell on its own, surprising her and the others. However, Michelle said the scariest part of filming was the handmade cloth doll, which was a key prop in the film. She mentioned that the doll appeared scary, but those who come in contact with it will gradually be captivated by it.
Since Michelle used the prop in many scenes, she grew fond of the doll and even wanted to take it home to Hong Kong. However, a master recognised something amiss with the doll. He then snatched it away from the actress and drew a talisman on the doll’s face. It’s worth noting that in “Walk With Me”, the doll is haunted and possesses Michelle’s character with horrifying intentions.
Michelle said she didn’t realise she had experienced a paranormal encounter until much later. Thankfully, nothing serious happened, but perhaps this is one of the risks actors face when filming horror films. Here’s a clip of Michelle sharing the story:
