It is common knowledge that being a celebrity is all about fame, glamour and money. However, not everything on the screen is real. Actress Goo Hye Sun (구혜선) recently made a revelation about how she lives in her car after making a massive splurg.
The 39-year-old disappeared from the entertainment industry after she divorced her husband, Ahn Jae-Hyun (안재현) in 2020. The actress claimed that she went to pursue her studies again as she had left it hanging for quite some time.
Not long ago, Goo Hye Sun made an appearance on a reality show titled “Real or Reel”, showcasing her daily life. This shocked the panel of guests on the show. The episode began with the actress getting ready for school in her car during the wee hours. She revealed that she doesn’t have a house of her own and would sleep in her school’s parking lot.
The “Fly Again” singer mentioned that she occasionally goes back to her mother’s house in Incheon but the commute to school will take hours. Thus, she decided to sleep in her car or the library whenever she had an exam or an important event she couldn’t miss. “Since I am already attending school, I thought I might as well aim to be the top student. Being late or absent was unthinkable for me, so I always arrived 2-3 hours early to ensure peace of mind,” she reasoned.
This raised concern among a few guests on the show, leading to one of them suggesting she rent a dorm nearby. “The “Boys Over Flowers” actress stated that she initially did but the contract ended the previous semester. She also added how impossible it was to find dorms that would rent it out to her for a 3-month period.
When questioned regarding her hygiene, the episode showed how she would simply wipe her face with wet wipes every morning. Notably, she substitutes using dry shampoo in the mornings and only uses soap to clean herself. “I honestly wonder why we need to wash every day. As long as I have wet wipes, I can manage,” she answered with ease.
Goo Hye Sun showed how her car is stocked with instant noodles, snacks and even a thermos to ensure comfort in some ways. Yet, this only shocked netizens as they wondered “Is it really comfortable?” as the temperatures can get really cold and she might get in danger since her windows aren’t tinted. Despite the concerns, many netizens praised the actress for putting in the hustle.
