The local entertainment scene mourns the passing of one of its veteran stars. Kamarool Yusoff, known affectionately as Cik Man, passed away on Wednesday (5th August 2026) from a heart attack. He was 68.
The devastating news of his death was shared on Facebook by comedian Amir Raja Lawak. In the post, the comedian, whose real name is Mohammad Amirullah Azmi, wrote, “Kamarool Haji Yusoff, better known as Farok and Cik Man, has left us. May Allah grant Abang Kamarool a place among the faithful and the righteous in Jannah, Al-Fatihah.” Amir also extended his condolences to Cik Man’s family.
According to reports, the actor breathed his last at around 5:15 pm while receiving treatment at Hospital Tanah Merah in Kelantan. The cause of death is believed to be a heart attack. Hours before Cik Man’s passing, Amir revealed that the late actor was rushed to the hospital and was in critical condition due to a heart blockage. He had received treatment and was placed in an induced coma.
A beloved figure in the Malay entertainment scene, Cik Man rose to prominence following his role in the 1986 Malaysian classic, “Gila-Gila Remaja”, in which he played the villainous leader of the Gagak Hitam gang. He would later star in several other films and regularly collaborate with the late Mamat Khalid. Some of his works include “Hantu Kak Limah Balik Rumah”, “Rock” and Rock Oo!”.
Fellow artists and fans have reacted to the unfortunate news. Many extended their condolences to Cik Man’s family and wished them strength during this difficult time. Others pay tribute to the late star by remembering his many memorable roles. Among the celebrities who have paid tribute to Cik Man on social media are comedians Saiful Apek, Yassin Yahya and Zizan Razak.
Cik Man is also remembered for his kindness and generosity, especially to his peers. We extend our condolences to Cik Man’s family and loved ones. May they find solace during these trying times, and may he rest in peace.
