Malaysia continues to be a popular travel destination for Hong Kong celebrities, with actress Snowy Bai (白云) and actor Eric Tsang (曾志伟) previously spotted in Kuala Lumpur. Recently, veteran Hong Kong actor Kwok Fung (郭鋒) was spotted shopping at The Exchange TRX, much to the delight of his Malaysian fans.
The Exchange TRX’s HUAWEI Experience Store outlet recently shared a post on their social media, revealing that the 73-year-old actor recently visited their store. The post writes, “Today our store was fortunate to meet Fung Ge (Kwok Fung’s nickname), a famous Hong Kong TVB actor. The store was lively, and our staff excitedly posed for a group photo.” In the picture, Kwok Fung smiled as he posed alongside the store staff. Given his age, it’s understandable that the public figure would have some noticeable wrinkles, but he seemed in good shape overall.
Many local netizens have since reacted to the post, voicing their excitement to learn that the star is currently in Malaysia. Many comments also brought up his most famous character, David Fok King-Leung (霍景良), from the TVB drama “At the Threshold of an Era (創世紀)”. Some even shared some of the character’s memorable quotes and joked that he was at The Exchange TRX to buy the store, a reference to the character who was the chairman of a large corporation.
Many fans were also generally happy to see the actor in good health because it’s been a while since he appeared in public. Following the death of his wife, actress Susanna Au-Yeung (歐陽佩珊), in 2017, Kwok Fung has been slowly stepping away from the spotlight and only occasionally stars in dramas and movies. In the comment section, fans wished that the actor would remain in good health and continue to appear in more projects.
Last year, the star also spent his free time in Malaysia because he was spotted in the country enjoying durian with some friends. It’s unclear whether he’s here for work or a holiday, but we hope Kwok Fung has a pleasant stay while he’s in Malaysia.
