Former DOLLA member Syasya Rizal once revealed that marriage was one of the reasons behind her departure from the group. This has sparked speculation among fans about whether the members’ contracts included a clause prohibiting them from marrying while still active.
So, when Sabronzo recently confirmed her marriage to DJ Ryan Fieret of Dash Berlin, fans were understandably both excited and concerned — wondering if this could signal another exit from the group. Fortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case. And if Sabronzo ever decides to part ways with DOLLA in the future, marriage won’t be the reason. Here’s why:
Earlier this week, Universal Music Malaysia’s Senior Director of Artist Management, Hermond Cheng, released a statement to address rumours and speculation surrounding DOLLA’s future following Sabronzo’s recent marriage. He clarified that there has never been a condition in the group’s contract prohibiting members from dating or getting married.
“Any DOLLA member who wishes to get married in the future is also allowed to do so,” he said during the launch of Bella Astillah and Daniesh Suffian’s latest single, “Akhirnya Kamu”. He also dismissed claims that former DOLLA member Syasya Rizal had been fined upon her marriage. “We never fined Syasya or asked her to pay compensation for getting married. In fact, she remains under the protection of Universal Music Malaysia as an artist. It’s just that her journey has taken a different path now,” he explained.
When asked about Sabronzo’s recent marriage, Hermond Cheng admitted that the label was initially surprised but happy for her nonetheless. As for whether a new member would be added to the group or if there is a backup plan in place should Sabronzo and her husband decide to start a family, the senior director said they would cross that bridge when the time comes. “Sabronzo will not leave DOLLA — she will be with DOLLA forever. At the moment, we have no plans to add new members. But if Sabronzo gets pregnant in the future, we might come up with a Plan B,” he said.
Sabronzo has yet to share plans about starting a family, but seeing that she and her husband had just gotten married, it’s safe to assume that children are not on the table in the near future. Regardless, it’s good to know that her members and label have her back.
