And history is made. K-pop, Formula 1, and anime just shared a press table in Singapore.
Today (9 October), TWICE’s TZUYU joined Atlassian Williams F1 Team, “DAN DA DAN” and Sector Zero for the collaboration’s first-ever press conference. It happened just hours before Sprint Qualifying got underway on the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
Just last week, we were here to report on an official theme from the songstress. Yes, it will be released in early 2027 alongside an all-new music video, and it aims to capture what the collaborative spirit behind “Speed and Supernatural” sounds like.
Why F1 Is Looking Beyond The Track
Williams, founded in 1977 by Sir Frank Williams and Sir Patrick Head, has won nine Constructors’ World Championships and 114 Grand Prix races, so it has plenty of history to build on. And they’re set to continue winning with this team-up.

Luke Timmins, Merchandise and Licensing Director at Atlassian Williams F1 Team, explained the mindset behind this shift. F1 has seen a huge growth in fans over the last eight years, and the newer ones care about lifestyle, entertainment and characters, plus how the sport fits alongside their other passions. “This collaboration is a unique proposition which brings together these different worlds through product, social and music,” he said.
Sayako Niimi, Director, Lead Global Partnerships at Sector Zero, built on that idea. Sector Zero is Williams’ pop-culture platform for what it calls the multidimensional fan, based on a simple insight: today’s fans rarely belong to just one world. Someone can love sports, anime, music, fashion and gaming all at once, yet those passions have traditionally been marketed to them separately. And for real, that describes most of us.
Naturally, music was the next logical step, and Niimi said the answers came quickly. “I have always believed in the power of music to connect people across different cultures, languages, and generations,” she said. “So, when we built the collaboration with Williams and DAN DA DAN, the obvious next question was: ‘what does it sound like?’ When TZUYU came into our conversation, we had an answer.” The platform is conceived and operated by UNDONE Lab, a Tokyo-based creative and collaboration team.
The Anime Side Is Thinking Bigger
Tassei Shimoie, Consumer Product Manager at MBS for TV Anime “DAN DA DAN”, called Singapore “an entry point: there will be more storytelling and more collaboration.” He also looked past this one series. “We are not just talking about DAN DA DAN, we are talking about building opportunities across anime,” he said. “We believe that this collaboration really brings the entire industry to the next level.”
The series has the momentum to back that up. Based on Yukinobu Tatsu’s manga and produced by Science SARU, “DAN DA DAN” ran two seasons, from Oct to Dec 2024 and Jul to Sep 2025. Netflix announced it as the most-watched TV anime of the second half of 2025. Season 3 is scheduled for 2027, the same year TZUYU’s song arrives.
What Does TZUYU Think?

TZUYU herself sounded just as excited. “The energy in Singapore during race week is amazing, and I’m so happy I could share this moment with fans here,” she said. “I hope everyone enjoys being introduced to Kokone at the Fan Zone. I can’t wait for you to hear the song next year.”
The song adds to her work outside TWICE, following her solo debut with “abouTZU” in September 2024. Led by “Run Away”, the six-track mini-album reached No. 19 on the Billboard 200 and No. 2 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart. She is also coming off a TWICE world tour of over 80 concerts, so a Formula 1 weekend is hardly her biggest stage. It is certainly her fastest.
It also builds on a partnership that has already produced exclusive merchandise drops and an appearance at Anime Expo in Los Angeles. Singapore now gives that collaboration a physical home base.
Meet Kokone
Kokone (written as 心音 or KOKONE) is a special collaborative character inspired by TZUYU. The Japanese characters in her name stand for “heart” and “sound”, which suits a character born from a theme song project.
She is officially described as “an anomaly from TZUYU’s journey into the world of speed and supernatural.” In other words, she is the face of the crossover’s “Speed Meets Supernatural” idea, and she sits at the centre of the new Singapore-exclusive merchandise, including a KOKONE tee.
According to the project’s lore, Tzuyu crossed the “redline” into a supernatural world of speed and did not come back alone. Kokone is the entity that crossed over with her, breaking into our reality
Williams has not shared much about her backstory or design yet, so we will be watching for more as the song gets closer.
Visit The Fan Zone
Fans can get a first look at that world at the Atlassian Williams F1 Team Fan Zone at Marina Square, which has special activations and new Singapore-exclusive merchandise. It is also where you can find the new Kokone merchandise. Entry is free, so be sure to check it out from now until Tuesday (13 October) between 11 am and 9 pm.
Can’t make the trip? The merchandise is available online through the Sector Zero site, and members get updates on the theme song project, plus upcoming releases, events, and member-only experiences.
