“Sometimes your worst self is your best self.”
The second trailer for Season 2 of “True Detective” has been released, and it features Vince Vaughn uttering the above sentence.
He utters it in such an ominous way that we can’t help but feel a shiver go down our spine. Known for being a funny man, Vaughn tries his hand in crime drama through his role in “True Detective” Season 2. He is joined by Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams, and Taylor Kitsch.
In the trailer, McAdams was seen to be enraged yet fearful, presumably out of hatred and fear of the unnamed villain. Kitsch can be seen doubting all of his decisions while Farrell was spotted sporting long hair in his character that looked trodden on.

The official synopsis is as follows:
A bizarre murder brings together 3 law-enforcement officers and a career criminal, each of whom must navigate a web of conspiracy and betrayal in the scorched landscapes of California. Colin Farrell is Ray Velcoro, a compromised detective in the all-industrial City of Vinci, LA County. Vince Vaughn plays Frank Semyon, a criminal and entrepreneur in danger of losing his life’s work, while his wife and closest ally (Kelly Reilly), struggles with his choices and her own. Rachel McAdams is Ani Bezzerides, a Ventura County Sheriff’s detective often at odds with the system she serves, while Taylor Kitsch plays Paul Woodrugh, a war veteran and motorcycle cop for the California Highway Patrol who discovers a crime scene which triggers an investigation involving 3 law enforcement groups, multiple criminal collusions, and billions of dollars.
Justin Lin will direct the first 2 episodes, with Nic Pizzolatto attached as scriptwriter.
Vaughn was last seen in “Unfinished Business” while Kitsch acted in “The Normal Heart”. McAdams will be starring in the upcoming sports drama film “Southpaw” and Farrell will be featured in action-thriller movie “Solace”.
“True Detective” Season 2 will premiere on HBO on 22nd June 2015.
