Tropicana Gardens Mall has been a popular shopping destination for Malaysians. There have been countless grand events like exhibitions and celebrity meet and greets held there over the years so shoppers always have something to look forward to when they visit the shopping centre.
However, the mall has gone through a rebranding recently, with a few key changes to take note of. Most obviously the new name that it’s going by — IOI Damanara Mall, courtesy of the property company that the mall is under now.

In July 2024, IOI Properties Group Bhd. acquired the former Tropicana Gardens Mall from Tropicana Indah Sdn Bhd for RM680 million in cash. The name has since changed to reflect the new ownership, as part of IOI Properties’ plan to bring its malls under the IOI brand.
With the mall becoming IOI Damansara, it has successfully joined IOI Properties’ lineup of shopping malls, which includes IOI City Mall, IOI Mall Puchong, and IOI Mall Kulai. So for the most part, everything remains the same but as mentioned earlier, there are a few key changes made after the rebranding.

If you remember, when it was Tropicana Gardens Mall, it was a pet-friendly centre, meaning you were allowed to bring your pets in to shop with you. However, as of 1st January, the mall’s rebrand includes a new rule: pets are no longer allowed to enter.
Another change is that parking will now be free for the first three hours! You can enjoy a shopping spree for three hours and leave without having to pay a single cent for parking. That’s more than enough time but if you’re not a fan of shopping then you can enjoy a movie at Golden Screen Cinemas, located on the 3rd and 5th floors of the mall, and won’t have to worry about parking fees.

Currently, IOI Mall Damansara is celebrating the Lunar New Year with everyone. They’ve opened a “CNY Market” in the Centre and West Courts of the mall. With a large variety of stalls, it truly resembles a market where you can shop to your heart’s content. The “CNY Market” is only available for a limited time, though, so make sure to check it out before the Lunar New Year period ends!
Below are the details about the “CNY Market”:
- Centre Court: 4th January – 16th February
- West Court: 10th January – 9th February
