If you’ve never been to Mid Valley Megamall, we’ve previously listed down all the things we personally love about the shopping centre and why should you definitely drop by for a visit.

While the mall is known for many amazing things, it also has some hidden gems waiting to be discovered. This content creator recently shared a fact about the premise that apparently not a lot of people know about (or do they?) However, the way he shared it could have been better.

CEO of Funnel Evo Academy Shariffudin Sahedan posted a video on his TikTok channel of his recent visit to Mid Valley Megamall. The video showed a food court that’s somewhat hidden in the shopping centre. “Not a lot of people know this but there’s actually a food court here that’s suitable for B40s,” he said in the video.

The businessman then proceeded to show the food court’s interior which he described as unexpected in comparison to the rest of the mall. “It doesn’t look like you’re in Mid Valley but this is the place where one would go to buy affordable food, especially those working here or students who are on a budget,” said the entrepreneur. He also explained that this food court has been around since his boarding school years.

Some netizens on TikTok commented that the eatery is not as “secretive” as the TikToker described, as it’s usually the go-to place those opting for something quick and affordable. The fact that the business owner labelled the eatery as a B40 foodcourt also did not sit well with netizens on Twitter.

Many criticised the content creator, saying that there was no need for him to use the income classifications. After all, not everyone who visit the foodcourt here are “poor”. Yes, the place here might “smell”, but many still frequent this eatery for its many delicious options.

In case any of you are wondering where this particular foodcourt is, it’s called Makan Place located on the Lower Ground of Mid Valley, right next to the MBG FruitShop. So if you’re looking for something affordable, that’s a good place to start!
