This Bowl Of Crocodile Ramen Costs RM225 & We’re Not Sure What To Think Of It

Have you ever tried any bizarre food in your lifetime? Or do you lose appetite at something unsightful? At first glance, this kind of food might look pretty disgusting, but you might change your mind once you’ve tried them. As the saying goes, “You’ll never know till you try it.”

Recently, a restaurant in Taiwan introduced a new food item that would surely make it onto a list of bizarre food from around the world— if such a list even exists. Nothing could get any weirder than fried tarantulas or coconut tree grubs, right?

This week, a netizen shared an interesting photo on Facebook. The photo shows a crocodile leg in a bowl of ramen with a variety of ingredients. In the bowl, you can see side dishes like baby corn, fungus, quail eggs and lemon slices. What really caught people’s attention however, is the giant crocodile leg – clearly too big to fit in the bowl.

This bowl of ramen, aptly named, ‘Croczilla Ramen (酷斯拉鱷魚拉麵)’, can only be found in a restaurant called ‘Witch Cat (女巫猫葵)’ in Taiwan. According to the post, one bowl costs approximately RM225, and those who want to try this dish need to order it in advance; you can’t just go to the store and ask for it.

In order to prevent people who are only interested in pictures from showing up, the store has also set a specific rule: “If you arrive at the store and just take pictures instead of finishing the ramen, you will be charged 100 yuan for food waste.”

Shortly after the post was uploaded, it went viral and netizens began clamouring over the bowl of crocodile ramen. A couple of netizens expressed their disgust and horror, whereas others tagged their friends in the comments and challenged them to eat it.

  • “This is just horrific! Who would dare to eat this?! Looking at this is just so frightening!”
  • “That’s ridiculous, putting anything they can for sale, looks like they’re going to be on the news again.”
  • “I’m going to be sick, I can’t (eat this)!”
  • “I thought it was photoshopped.”
  • “Why not just put a whole crocodile head into a bowl of ramen next time?”

Would you want to try this bowl of ‘crocodile ramen’?
