The Reason Why There Won’t Be Any Group Promotion For DAY6’s New Album

Korean boy band DAY6 (데이식스) will not be promoting together as a group for their new album “The Book of Us: Negentropy”. The members will have to end their new album activities alongside the release of the album without promotion.

According to JYP Entertainment on 19th April, the company’s official social media page stated that DAY6 will not promote as a group because of Sungjin’s (성진) absence, as the leader must enlist in the military. Moreover, JYP explained that the guitarist’s enlistment will result in practical difficulties during group activities related to their new album.

JYP Entertainment expressed, “We’re sorry that we have to deliver some unfortunate news. However, the group, as well as the company, believe that it would be more meaningful to continue the album activities with promotions as a whole group. Therefore, we have decided that the group will take a break in album promotion due to Sungjin’s enlistment. We have decided after giving careful thought and discussing the matter with the members.”

This isn’t the first time DAY6 had to cancel group activities. Last year in May, the boy band halted activities a day before they released their sixth mini-album, “The Book of Us: The Demon”. Around that time, JYP Entertainment announced that some of the boys were showing signs of psychological anxiety. Due to this, DAY6 didn’t promote the album as a group.

Obviously, fans are not happy with this news at all and some netizens were even condemning JYP Entertainment for how they were managing the group.

Fortunately, one fan explained the whole situation more thoroughly to calm DAY6 fans down.
