The Ordinary is putting its latest eye treatment to the test with the launch of its Lacto-PDRN 4% + B9 Eye Cream*, a targeted formula designed to deliver visible firmness, smoother-looking skin and an immediate boost of radiance, while supporting longer-term improvements in the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and elasticity.

As skincare users become increasingly interested in products that deliver noticeable results, The Ordinary’s latest innovation takes a straightforward approach, visible results now, with continued improvements over time. Designed specifically for the delicate eye area, the formula combines targeted ingredients with biotechnology-derived PDRN to address some of the most common concerns around the eyes.

The eye cream is powered by Lacto-PDRN™ 4% and Vitamin B9, combining biotechnology-derived PDRN with targeted ingredients formulated for the delicate eye area. Its film former technology creates a flexible film network over the skin to provide an immediate firming effect without leaving the area feeling harsh or stiff.

The lightweight yet nourishing formula is also designed for daily use and can be easily incorporated into an existing skincare routine. It can be worn underneath makeup, including concealer and foundation, making it suitable for those looking to target the eye area without adding an extra complicated step to their morning routine.

The Results

According to the brand’s testing, the eye cream delivers several visible benefits from the first use, with further improvements seen with continued use. These include visible lifting of the eyelids, immediate tightening to reduce the appearance of under-eye bags and a 72% increase in skin hydration within two hours.

After eight weeks, the formula was also found to improve the appearance of texture and crepey eyelids by 17%, while reducing the appearance of fine lines under the eyes by 18%. The formula also promises immediate luminosity with lasting radiance, making it a treatment designed to address both instant and longer-term concerns around the eye area.

Together, these results position the eye cream as a treatment focused on both the immediate appearance of the eye area and the gradual improvements that come with consistent use. Whether it is firmness, hydration, texture or the appearance of fine lines, the formula is designed to target multiple concerns in one step.

A Vegan Alternative To Fish-Derived PDRN

One of the formula’s key differences is its source of PDRN. Unlike traditional fish-derived PDRN sourced from salmon DNA, Lacto-PDRN™ is a biotechnology-derived vegan alternative created through the controlled fermentation of Lactobacillus rhamnosus, a probiotic bacterium.

Through this process, bacterial DNA is broken down into shorter fragments to create a microbially derived PDRN selected for its targeted data around the delicate eye area. This approach brings together clinically supported efficacy and vegan sourcing in one formula, while offering an alternative to the more traditional fish-derived forms of PDRN found in skincare.

The Lacto-PDRN 4% + B9 Eye Cream* comes in a 15ml format and is priced at RM 50. It is available at The Ordinary stores in Pavilion KL (Level 4), Mid Valley (Ground Floor) and IOI City Mall (Ground Floor).
