The New MIDO Commander Gradient Wears Green Like Nobody’s Business!

You’ve heard of green fingers? Well, prepare for green wrists, because MIDO has unveiled the extraordinary Commander Gradient in a magnificent shade of green.

The gears of the impressive Calibre 80 are visible not only from the back, but also from the front, thanks to the transparent coloured gradient dial. A timeless icon, the Commander breaks free of conventions and pays tribute to MIDO’s watchmaking expertise.

The Commander, produced without interruption since 1959, has become a symbol of MIDO’s excellence. The model continues to surprise, thanks to constant aesthetic and technological innovations. In this new Commander Gradient variation, the green-tinted dial, transparent in the centre and becoming increasingly opaque around the edges, invites you to plunge into the mechanical heart of the watch.

This fascinating face pays tribute to MIDO’s renowned Calibre 80, with its unparalleled reliability – thanks to a power reserve of up to 80 hours and a high-tech balance spring. This transparent, cutting-edge mechanism is showcased within the timeless lines of the Commander: the distinctive round, open case, slim bezel, integrated crown, and signature hands and indexes. The open caseback, fitted with a sapphire crystal, gives a clear view of the watchmaker’s mastery. A stainless steel bracelet completes this Commander Gradient – sporty, chic and resistant to the passage of time, just like the icon itself.

The original face of the Commander Gradient allows us to appreciate the full extent of MIDO’s expertise. The Calibre 80 appears in the centre, visible through the captivating shades of green. The display indications stand out clearly in white to ensure perfect legibility, including the minute track on the flange. A window at 3 o’clock shows the date. The polished hour and minute hands are varnished black in the centre and coated with white Super-LumiNova®, as are the indices. This means that the information remains perfectly visible both during the day and at night. A domed, faceted sapphire crystal protects this boldly imposing dial.

Complementing the finely polished bezel and satin-finished curves of the steel Commander Gradient case is a bracelet, also in satin-finished steel. Fitted with a folding clasp, it features an easy-change system, allowing you to vary your look with other MIDO bracelets.

Visible both from the front and through the transparent case back, the Caliber 80 is the real star of the new Commander Gradient – renowned for its excellence and formidable reliability. Its balance spring is made from Nivachron™, an innovative material which offers superior resistance to magnetic fields and shocks.

This movement has a power reserve of up to 80 hours, guaranteeing enviable chronometric consistency. The finely-crafted Caliber 80 celebrates the history of watchmaking through its traditional decorations, such as the Côtes de Genève on the oscillating weight, engraved with the MIDO logo.

The MIDO Commander Gradient is available for RM4,600. For information on retail store locations, visit the MIDO Watches website.
