Beauty experts at Nouveau Lashes have highlighted a rising trend of people opting for a more minimalistic, natural illusion – as opposed to the full-coverage, full glam days of the past.
In addition, searches for the ‘clean girl aesthetic’ have skyrocketed on TikTok, with videos receiving up to 22.5 million views on the social media platform. With simplistic makeup routines gaining more and more popularity, it is no surprise that time-saving, natural looking beauty trends and treatments are also on the rise.
Lash Serum
When it came to beauty crazes taking the internet by storm, lash serum stole first place with an impressive score of 25.5/30 overall. This ranking was thanks to a staggering 203,000 hashtags on Instagram, as well as 743 million TikTok views. This led to the humble lash serum receiving 8.5 when it came to its impact on Instagram, and 7/10 when it came to TikTok.

Rumoured to encourage a glossy, lit-from-within glow, it is no surprise that this trend had 10,000 Instagram hashtags and 1 billion TikTok views.
Despite products like Vaseline being an affordable bathroom essential in most houses, even celebrities such as Kourtney Kardashian have attempted to embrace the trend. With TikTokkers claiming that the process helps to deeply hydrate and soothe even the most sensitive, irritation-prone skin, this is unsurprising.
Lip Stain
In joint-second place was ‘lip stain’, also scoring 24/30. Despite being around for decades, this versatile product is, once again, doing the rounds – receiving 434 million views on TikTok overall.
With makeup trends slowly moving away from products such as liquid lipstick and full-coverage foundation, in favour of a more understated look, it makes sense that multi-purpose formulas are making their way back into the limelight.
The queen of natural-looking glam, Hailey Bieber, is regularly seen sporting a low-key yet glossy lip with just a hint of colour – even makeup mogul Kylie Jenner has added a (green) lip tint to her vast collection.
