The Grass Is Always Greener With Bell & Ross’s New 05 Chrono Green Steel!

Inspiration for Bell & Ross oscillates between sky and sea, but the Franco-Swiss watch brand that specialises in professional instruments always has its feet on the ground. With its green dial, the new BR 05 Chrono Green Steel celebrates the marriage between contemplating nature and a taste for urban performance. It’s a model of contemporary architecture in a chrono, designed for urban explorations.

BR 05 Chrono Green Steel: Rubber Strap

The green dial on the new BR 05 Chrono Green Steel brings a breath of fresh air to the urban landscape. The dial’s satin green upgrades the aesthetics of sports and city watches. The colour of luck, green is above all the symbol of nature and hope. Wide-reaching inspiration, for a watch that meets the expectations of a generation aspiring to renewal and change.

BR 05 Chrono Green Steel: Steel Strap

As a material that symbolises the emergence of new cities, steel carries a strength that is emphasised by its shine. To manifest the urban, modern spirit of the new BR 05 Chrono Green Steel, it seemed only natural to carve the parts making up the complex assembly of the 42mm diameter case out of stainless steel, with its “rounded square” design at the core of Bell & Ross style.

Accentuating thickness, emphasising elegant sophistication, and expressing the importance of the lights game as in a contemporary city, the satin-brushed surfaces are perfectly flat, while the bevels are polished. With its green dial, the shape of this structured steel case combines the organic with the geometric. An architecture developed enough to seduce modern city explorers. With the steel strap integrated into the case, the BR 05 Chrono Green Steel adopts a truly contemporary timepiece form.

“The case and strap are one. This design is a nod to a type of watch that first appeared in the 1970s. Transposed into the Bell & Ross identity, we were able to achieve a result that is at once clear, modern and graphic,” emphasises Bruno Belamich, Creative Director of Bell & Ross, referring to the piece that’s designed to be versatile and easily readable.

The green dial’s light diffusing effects highlight these strengths, with a counter at three o’clock indicating the chronograph minutes, and another at nine o’clock displaying the small seconds. The date is displayed with a discreet aperture set between 4 and 5 o’clock. Removing the superfluous, the new BR 05 Chrono Green Steel gets straight to the point.

At the heart of the BR 05 family, the new Green Steel is part of the brand’s range of chronographs, featuring the mechanical self-winding BR-CAL301 movement. This robust calibre delivers great reliability and considerable efficiency. Visible through the sapphire crystal case back, the rotor is a finely skeletonized full disc inspired by a car rim: a characteristic signature of Bell & Ross automatic movements.

The BR05C-GN-ST/SRB retails for RM26,400; the BR05C-GN-ST/SST for RM28,900
