Since Bangkok is unquestionably one of the world’s fashion capitals, everyone is already aware of how distinctive and iconic Thai fashion can be. However, what most people don’t know is that their sustainable fashion is just as good – if not better!

That being said, Thailand has introduced 50 BCG brands that advocate for sustainability in all of their design and production processes. And in case you didn’t already know, the BCG model stands for: Bio economy, Circular economy and Green economy and was introduced by the Thai Government as a plan for national development and post-pandemic recovery.

Well, Hype took a trip to Thailand to check out what BCG had to offer in terms of sustainable fashion and lifestyle products, we were splendidly surprised by 10 of these brands:

1. SOUTH FABRIC

South fabric is inspired by local traditions with a combination of Sino-Portugese and Western heritage. A seamless fusion of apparel and lifestyle fashion that embodies Phuket is created by South Fabric. South Fabric is perfect for everyday use because it is cosy, practical, and distinctive.

You can combine and match unique fabric designs using regional cloth from the southern Thai provinces to create the perfect item of your choosing. By sourcing their resources locally, they give sustainability a high priority in both their design and manufacturing operations.

2. AKIRA

The AKIRA collections are handmade products made by a family business. They intend to make shirts for those who want comfort and minimalism in their outfits. Each design is tailored to give a local feel, Lanna style and slow life.

They use premium grade Chiang Mai cotton which is made only for AKIRA by a factory there. Their cotton is smooth, light and comfortable.
