BL or Boy’s Love dramas is a very popular genre in Thailand. The main stars of those shows would obviously get shipped as a couple because of their amazing chemistry on screen and actors “Nanon” Korapat Kirdpan (นนน) and “Ohm” Pawat Chittsawangdee (โอม) are one pair that fans couldn’t get enough of, hence the ship name ‘OhmNanon’.
The actors first worked together on the BL series “Bad Buddy” which helped them gain global recognition. They’ve made numerous public appearances to promote the show and have been paired together by their agency for other projects. However, fans noticed that the two have grown distant to the point that they’ve even deleted photos of each other on social media but it was only recently that the company addressed those concerns.
For context, Nanon and Ohm have not made any public appearances together as a “pair” for a very long while which caused fans to be worried about their “relationship”. Rumours surrounding the on-screen couple have since circulated on social media. It was only yesterday (Wednesday, 21st July) when their agency GMMTV finally addressed their “breakup”.
In an official statement, the company clarified that the two stars are currently focusing on their respective solo careers and decided to cease their joint work as a duo. “We extend our heartfelt thanks to fans for their continued support for both artists. We appreciate your understanding and hope that you will continue to support Ohm and Nanon in their future endeavours,” the agency wrote.
The announcement has put rumours to rest but it has now caused an uproar among fans. Many felt that the statement took too long to be shared as they’ve all been feeling uneasy about the actors’ personal relationship with each other. Others felt that fans were overreacting saying that the Thai celebs are not even a real couple and do not owe anyone any explanation.
Even if something did happen between Nanon and Ohm, it’s a personal matter for the two to resolve on their own. Even though the latest statement sparked a new fan war, at least everyone got the closure they needed.
