After Mark (마크) departed from SM Entertainment and NCT (엔시티), many fans were curious about the future of the other members, especially those whose exclusive contracts are expiring soon. Earlier today, member Ten (텐) announced that he’ll be leaving the company after 10 years.
On 6th April 2026, SM Entertainment released a statement on Ten’s future with the company and his groups, NCT and WayV (威神V). In its statement, the company writes, “Following careful and extensive discussions regarding TEN’s future direction, we have reached a mutual understanding to conclude his exclusive contract with SM Entertainment, effective 8th April.”

However, the company clarifies that Ten will continue to be in NCT and WayV following his departure, with the statement writing, “Moving forward, we (SM Entertainment) will continue to stay in close communication to explore opportunities for TEN to participate in WayV and NCT activities, where possible.”
Ten debuted as a member of NCT U in 2016, making him the first Thai artist under SM Entertainment. He would later debut as a member of WayV in 2019 and is also part of SuperM. Ten released his first solo single in 2017, before making his official solo debut in 2024 with his eponymous extended play.

Following the announcement, the singer shared letters to fans in Korean, Chinese, Thai and English. In the letter, Ten extended his gratitude to fans for their love and support throughout the years. He also expressed his desire to explore new opportunities for himself, which influenced his decision to leave SM Entertainment.
Since Ten will still be part of NCT and WayV, fans can still expect him to participate in the group’s upcoming releases. We wish the singer all the best in his future endeavours, and we can’t wait to see what he has planned for his career.
