Temple Tree Resort, winner of the TTG Travel Awards for Best Boutique Hotel in Malaysia 2023 and 2024, comprises eight heritage Malaysian houses aged approximately 90 to 120 years. Each was meticulously sourced from states across Malaysia, including Perak, Penang, and Johor, before carefully transported and reconstructed in Langkawi. Like a living museum, the resort preserves the cultural legacy of these homes while integrating contemporary comforts to ensure that the timeless stories woven into their walls remain alive.
The Ipoh House Collection
Within one of the resort’s most central buildings – the Ipoh House, originally relocated from Ipoh, Perak, and now welcoming guests as the lobby – the newly debuted Ipoh House Collection introduces a new category that exemplifies Temple Tree’s philosophy of “Tradition Reimagined.” Three new suites and two rooms balance contemporary luxury within an authentic heritage setting, ensuring the historical charm of the building remains untouched while the interiors are elevated.
Inspired by Ipoh’s rich Chinese cultural heritage and nature-inspired symbolism, the suites feature bespoke wallpapers that serve as the foundation for the collection’s unique storytelling. The Ying Suite draws from the freedom of birds; Lian Suite looks to florals for beauty; while the Ying Suite honours the stability and rootedness of trees. Moving away from a conventional reception area, a patisserie counter anchors a welcome station cum social hub that comes to life in a living room-like atmosphere. Freshly brewed coffee and craft cakes fuel a space where guests can unwind and immerse in the resort’s slow-travel rhythm from the moment they arrive.
As twilight settles over the island, the resort’s all-day Paloh Restaurant transforms into a sophisticated evening lounge with Paloh After Dark. Expect dishes structured across distinct new categories including Heritage Favourites, Straits Classics, Bar Snacks, and Curated Pairings. Highlights showcase a bold celebration of regional favourites, featuring the Heritage Platter, Nyonya Platter, Straits Seafood Platter, Nyonya Laksa, Lamb Masala Curry, Spaghetti Lemak Prawn, and a unique Rendang Cheeseburger. Complementing its new rooms and dining experiences, Temple Tree Resort Langkawi introduces the Temple Tree Beach Experience, offering guests a relaxed day by the sea at Pantai Kok for RM250 nett for two persons. The experience includes return transfers from the resort, sun deck use and a thoughtfully prepared Temple Tree Beach Bag with beach towels, mineral water, sunscreen, wet wipes/tissue, mosquito repellent and a reusable bag for wet clothes.
Guests can swim, unwind on the sand, take a leisurely beach walk or enjoy the Langkawi seascape, while optional activities including water biking, stand-up paddleboarding, beach tennis and volleyball are available for hire by H2Ocean Langkawi at an additional charge.
