Children are the future of our nation. What we teach and how we guide them will inevitably shape their upbringing. Be it good or bad, we can only hope for the best. That is why it’s important to have a good role models in the presence of these kids, especially teachers.

Schools are supposed to be a safe space where children can get a better education. But what happens when the people who are supposed to mould them into better human beings, start abusing them?

FOR ILLUSTRATION PURPOSES ONLY

Just recently, a 14-year-old schoolboy in Malaysia was forced to lodge a police report after a teacher had allegedly taken pictures of his private parts on school grounds. The teacher had also threatened to post the explicit pictures online.

According to Free Malaysia Today, the boy had kicked the teacher while playing a friendly game of futsal. Enraged, the accused teacher dragged him to a nearby storeroom, closed the door, and forced the boy to strip his pants down. Telling the boy to lie down, the teacher then took photos of him.

On top of taking photos, the schoolboy also claimed in reports that the accused teacher had even assaulted him. The teacher grabbed him by his collar and even pinned him to a wall.

An investigation by the Klang Selatan Police is now in progress but according to the lawyer engaged to the boy’s family, V Vemal Arasan, the school had pressured them to withdraw the report – to close the case altogether. According to said lawyer, there are five other students that had witnessed the accused teacher manhandling the boy.
