Whenever someone goes missing or loses contact, it’s a call for concern. Recently, reports have emerged that Taiwanese singer-songwriter Eli Hsieh (謝震廷) has gone missing, sparking concern from fans.
On 21st August 2025 (Thursday), musician Fan YangJing (范揚景) shared a post on Instagram Stories, alluding to the fact that Eli has gone missing. The post writes, “If anyone has encountered singer-songwriter Eli Hsieh, please contact me immediately!”. The musician also revealed that many other people are searching for the 31-year-old star and is hoping that the public has any clue to his whereabouts.
Unfortunately, Fan YangJing shared no additional information, including when he last heard from Eli. However, a quick look at Eli’s social media pages shows that his most recent post was from 11th August 2025 (Monday). Regardless, the post has garnered widespread attention and sparked concern amongst fans. Many are worried that something may have happened to the star, pointing out his turbulent life.
Eli first emerged in the Taiwanese music scene at age 13 after appearing in a talent competition. In 2015, he won the Golden Melody Award for Best New Artist for his debut album. Despite achieving success with his music, the singer had been battling depression for many years, since he was a teenager. He also once confessed that he was bullied in school, which led him to change schools three times during his studies.
Last January, Eli made headlines after being arrested for attempting to injure his ex-girlfriend with a knife. Earlier this year, the singer candidly revealed his financial struggles, admitting he borrowed money from loan sharks. He was also arrested again in June 2025 for suspicion of fraud, but it’s believed the charges against him were dropped. Despite his tumultuous personal life, Eli recently released new music, including the single “Silver Lining”.
