Over the years, Malaysia has been the prime film location for many international projects. Recently, a lucky fan spotted Taiwanese actor Greg Hsu (許光漢) while the star was in town to film a new movie.
Earlier this week, a fan took to Douyin to share a couple of photos she took with Greg after meeting him by chance in Kuala Lumpur. According to the post, the fan spotted the actor in public and asked if she could take a photo with him. She noted that he was very polite and down-to-earth.

According to reports, the actor is currently in town to film for his new project, “The Scammers (unofficial title, literal translation from 诈欺者)”. The crime series, directed by Cheng Wei-hao, follows a group led by a character named Jiang as they execute revenge against scammers, while harbouring a decades-old secret.
Filming for the series began a couple of months ago, with the crew spotted on set in Taipei last month. The filming is reportedly in the final stages. “The Scammers” is one of Greg’s first projects since his discharge from his mandatory military service in August 2025. The series is looking at a 2027 release.

It’s unknown how much longer Greg will be in KL, especially since the filming is reportedly near completion. However, fans have expressed hope to have the chance to bump into the actor while he’s in town. Interestingly, many weren’t aware that Greg was in Malaysia until the fan shared about his whereabouts.
While it’s understandable that many fans are eager to meet Greg in KL, let’s try not to interfere with the filming process. Would you like a chance to bump into the actor while he’s here?
