#SuicideSquad: Cara Delevingne Freaks People Out With Her Role As Enchantress

Production for the upcoming “Suicide Squad” movie has officially concluded earlier in August this year, but its storyline and characters have been shrouded in secrecy.

The one that was shrouded in mystery the most is Enchantress, a character played by Cara Delevingne.

Cara Delevingne as Enchantress

We already know that the Suicide Squad is made up of a group of supervillains, but what we still can’t determine is the main antagonist that they’re going up against. Is it Jared Leto‘s The Joker? Or is it Ben Affleck‘s Batman?

Oh wait. Could it be Delevingne’s Enchantress, since there aren’t a lot of details about her role in the movie? Well, if you think they’re going up against Enchantress, you might be wrong.

Through an interview with Empire Magazine, Delevingne revealed that her character is “an ancient sorceress”, whom we know is immensely powerful in the original comic book. The “Paper Towns” actress further described that Enchantress as “a feral being”, adding that “she’s been trapped for so long and now she’s finally let out”.

The unlucky human whom Enchantress takes over is June Moone, another character that Delevingne played in this film.

“June is an adventure seeker who’s always wanted some excitement,” the star told Empire of her human character. “And she gets what she wished for,” she said, before adding that she gets it “in a terrible way” while exploring a creepy cave.

But obviously, June and Enchantress are 2 completely characters. When asked by Empire about how she approached her role as Enchantress, she said:

I’d gather the accent, which is deeper and posher than June’s.

She added, “And I’d Blast Nick Cave’s “Red Right Hand”, that song about the devil. Also a lot of Megadeth. Just evil stuff.”

Blasting a song about the devil wasn’t really the strangest behaviour that Delevingne has shown while preparing for her role in the movie.

Outside of her character, the British model has apparently “freaked out a few people” while practicing for her role in her hotel. “I decided that her domain was a warm, steamy lair so I spent a lot of time in the hotel steam room,” Cara said.

She added:

Occasionally someone’s come in and I’ve just been on the floor in the corner, crawling around and doing creepy sh*t. I go “Sorry, bit weird!” But I’ve freaked out a few people, that’s for sure.

Since director David Ayer wants to make “Suicide Squad” as real as possible, it definitely sounds like he has succeeded at doing so.

Asides from the interview, we were given a new look at Delevingne’s role as The Enchantress, who graced the cover on the latest issue of Empire Magazine.

Her costume is a far cry from how the character is styled in the comic book, but we figured that it may fit the film’s dark and gritty sense of style. Empire Magazine will apparently reveal more covers soon, featuring the rest of this villainous line-up.

Based on the original DC Comic of the same name, “Suicide Squad” centres on a group of supervillains who find themselves going on a most unlikely mission for a shot at redemption. However, the mission will probably kill them all.

Charles Roven and Richard Suckle are producing the film, which will be executive produced byZack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Colin Wilson, and Geoff Johns. Ayer is directing it based on based on Justin Marks’ screenplay.
