You will often see strange items being sold online like gravestones, ghost pillows, or fetus skulls. Sometimes you’ll see scalpers reselling concert tickets at a ridiculous high price. If you’re lucky (or not), you might even come across “used” items by celebrities being sold online.

You’d be surprised by how many people out there that are willing to buy all these items. If given the chance, would you buy a plastic stool that was allegedly sat on by Formula 1 world champion Sir Lewis Hamilton?

SOURCE: SHOPEE

Recently, Lewis Hamilton was spotted at a Petronas station and KLCC. Photos of the F1 driver sitting on a plastic stool at a Petronas petrol station in Penchala Link went viral all over social media. The plastic stool in question has apparently been put on sale on Shopee by limabintangautoparts for RM2,888.88!

But wait, is this the actual stool that Lewis Hamilton sat on at the petrol station? The item supposedly had the Shopee’s 100% Authentic Guarantee badge which promises to offer your money back if the item is not authentic.

If you were to look at the stool on its own, there’s really no difference to any ordinary stool that you can purchase for RM10 or less. Netizens reacted and shared their opinions when Twitter user @brgsjks tweeted the Shopee post.

While the seller is a real Preferred Shopee seller that has been on the platform for 3 years with a rating of 4.9 stars, the alleged Lewis Hamilton stool may just be a joke. One indication is that despite being “one of a kind”, there are 9999 units available.

If that’s not obvious enough, the seller wrote in the description: “Rare stool, only 1 in Malaysia. Sat on by F1 racer Lewis Hamilton. We wrapped the stool immediately after he got up to maintain the freshness of his butt prints.”

The “Sold Out” notice was probably the seller’s way to stop crazy fans from attempting to actually purchase the plastic stool. The original item post on Shopee has since been deleted.
