Start 2025 Like You Mean It With 2 “Extra” New Drops From Swatch & Apollo Instruments

If you’re looking to level up your watch game, then it’s best to step out of the ordinary and embrace the wilder side of the timepiece world.

From embroidered creations that will bring you luck, to a retro machine that’ll give you a dose of nostalgia, here are new watch drops you don’t want to miss out on.

Swatch Year Of The Snake Collection

Like us, Swatch is always looking to get lucky when the Lunar New Year rolls around. And to help reel in those lucky vibes, the brand has been releasing annual Lunar New Year-themed watches – and this year (of the snake) is no different.

The Year of the Snake Swatch Collection features two main designs – the first is the Golden Red Bamboo piece, which is distinguished by a case that is polished gold in colour and extends into the dial. The ivory leather and textile band features an embroidered bamboo plant design in a vibrant orange with a golden snake coiling itself throughout.

On the flip side is the larger Blue and Golden Lithe Dancer. This piece features similar decals printed onto the matte blue band in white and various hues of blue without the embroidery. Its enormous 47mm dial is framed by a golden case and accentuated with a bright orange pusher and seconds arm. Another unifying trait among these two watches is their glow-in-the-dark arms and 3 bar water resistance, making them perfect for any occasion, including a splashy trip to the beach.

Available only for a limited time, the Year of the Snake Swatch collection can be purchased through Swatch’s physical and online stores.

Apollo Instruments’ DSKY Moonwatch

A newcomer to the space-themed watch market, Apollo Instruments has unveiled the DSKY Moonwatch, a four-year project that captures the spirit of adventure and space exploration.

If you’re a sci-fi movie lover, this design will instantly make you feel nostalgic, with its truly stellar yet familiar design that also pays homage to astronauts and aerospace engineers. In order to give the wearer a true experience of the iconic device, this interactive piece replicates the original Apollo guidance computer interface used aboard the Apollo spacecraft.

It features implemented custom operations that make use of the sophisticated capabilities of the Apollo Instruments DSKY – enabling users to interact with the same technology that guided the historic moon missions – while faithfully replicating a number of operational routines and presenting them in their original display formats. Furthermore, unlike the actual rocket used by NASA, this watch is guaranteed to keep functioning thanks to regular software updates.

Essential features like a stopwatch, timer, alarm, adjustable time zones with automatic DST, and a display of the time and date are among its many features. Along with original features like the GPS-driven P66 landing routine, V35 lights and display test, power down, and standby routines, it also has GPS navigation.

The DSKY Moonwatch is priced at £649 (~RM3,616), but you can make an on-order deposit for £240 (~RM1,337) and is currently available via Apollo Instruments’s website.
