One of South Korea’s beloved celebrity couples has officially called it quits. Girls’ Generation (소녀시대) member Sooyoung (수영) and actor Jung Kyung Ho (정경호) recently confirmed their breakup, ending their 14-year relationship.
On 9th June 2026 (Tuesday), Sooyoung and Jung Kyung Ho’s agency shared a statement in response to a news outlet report about the couple’s recent breakup. The report revealed that the couple recently grew distant due to their busy schedule and naturally went their separate ways.
Sooyoung’s agency, SARAM Entertainment, confirmed the pair’s separation, saying, “It’s true that they have broken up. They have decided to remain good colleagues.” Jung Kyung Ho’s agency, Management Allum, also confirmed the news, commenting, “It’s true that they have broken up. As it is a private matter, it’s difficult to provide further details.”
Rumours of the couple separating first emerged earlier this week, after fans noticed the two had unfollowed each other on Instagram. Once both stars’ agencies confirmed the news, many netizens took to social media to express their shock. Since Sooyoung and Jung Kyung Ho have been dating for over a decade, even non-fans were surprised by the breakup news.
In case you’re wondering, Sooyoung and Jung Kyung Ho have been dating since 2012, but officially went public with their relationship in January 2014 after acknowledging dating rumours. Throughout their time together, the pair often spoke candidly about their relationship, even on television shows and public appearances.
