South Korean actress Song Hye Kyo (송혜교) is adored by many fans around the world. She is beautiful, kind, smart ,and is currently the most-wanted woman in the entertainment industry. So why is the 34-year-old star still single?
In a recent press interview with the K-Pop Herald, the actress revealed her opinions about her life as a global celebrity and also shared her thoughts about friendship, dating, and marriage.
“Song Hye-kyo is like an ordinary person. I used to have many friends to hang out with when I was young. I had so many that I could not take care of all of them. Nowadays, the older I get, I lose more friends. I became increasingly cautious in terms of relationships to the degree that I only hang out with those who can tolerate anything that I do. I cry if something bad happens, I grab a drink with friends when I get stressed out, I travel, I sometimes lash out at my closest friends,” said the actress when she was asked about her current life as a top actress.
Besides that, she also mentioned that over time after a drama or movie finishes, she just likes to do nothing and recover because acting can sometimes make her feel exhausted.
Song Hye Kyo was involved in 2 high-profile relationships with her fellow co-stars Lee Byung Hun (from “All In”) in 2003 and Hyun Bin (from “The World That The Live In”) in 2009. Although both relationships didn’t manage to last till marriage, the actress seems to be handling single life very well.
When asked on plans for marriage, the star answered, “I’m old enough to get married. But I see myself swaying. One day I’m like ‘I should marry someone soon’ and another day I’m like ‘Why get married? I’m a free-spirited individual. I can travel to all kinds of places without asking anyone’s permission. I can do whatever I want.’ But someday the day for marriage will eventually come.”
As a single and beautiful celebrity that is surrounded by good-looking actors all the time, Song Hye Kyo can never seem to get away from dating rumours. Recently, there have been several dating rumours about the actress and her “Descendants Of The Star” co-star Song Joong Ki.

“I have dined with Song frequently, and New York City was one of the places where we have had dinner together. The fact that we met in New York, I suppose, drew fans’ attention. You might not see, but I have many friends in New York. Song was headed to New York as well. Song and I had worked together for six months, so I just cannot just refuse to have dinner together. As for the bracelet, which sparked the rumours – I had my black hair tie on my wrist, which somehow turned into a couple bracelet overnight. And the aftermath, you all know,” said Song Hye Kyo to the K-Pop Herald.
The K-Drama darling debuted in 1996 but rose to fame with her role as Eun Seo in “Autumn In My Heart” (2000). Her other drama works include “All In” (2003), “Full House” (2004), “The World That They Live In” (2008), and “That Winter, The Wind Blows” (2013).
