1. Seung Gi + YoonA
About him: 27-year-old Seung Gi is a singer, actor, and MC. He’s known for his work on variety show “1 Night 2 Days” and talk show “Strong Heart”. Scouted by singer Lee Sun Hee, Lee Seung Gi trained for 2 years before debuting in 2004 at the age of 17.
About her: 24-year-old YoonA is a singer, dancer, actress, model, TV presenter, and rapper. She was cast in SM Entertainment in 2002, where she trained for 7 years. After which she debuted under SNSD Girls’ Generation.
Their story: In October 2013, they were spotted going on a date where Seung Gi picked YoonA up at an apartment before heading off to the Han River area. But even at that time, the two were said to have been seeing each other for months before they were “caught”. In March 2014, YoonA went on “Healing Camp” to say, “I was thinking about working hard this 2014, but on the first day of the New Year, news articles regarding my relationship suddenly came pouring out. I’m the first member to go public, so I felt really apologetic towards the others. I felt bad because the other eight girls would be put in uncomfortable positions trying to answer questions about me. I thought I was burdening them.”
2. Jung Kyung Ho + Sooyoung
About him: 30-year-old Jung Kyung-ho is an actor who passed a KBS audition before signing with SidusHQ. Hemade his acting debut in “5 Stars”, a mobile drama produced by SidusHQ and broadcast over SK Telecom. He’s best known for his supporting roles in “I’m Sorry, I Love You” and “Time Between Dog and Wolf”, and his leading roles in “Smile”, “You”, and “Cruel City”.
About her: 24-year-old Sooyoung is a singer, dancer, actress, promotional model, TV presenter, songwriter, rapper, and MC. She was discovered on SM Casting System via the 2000 SM Open Audition. She was a member of the Korean-Japanese duo group Route θ until the group disbanded in 2003. She then joined SNSD Girls’ Generation in 2007.
Their story: In February and October 2013, rumours of Jung Kyung Ho and Sooyoung made headlines. They denied it until they were spotted at a Christmas Eve party at Sooyoung’s house. Prior to the party, he was seen purchasing a Chanel “something” (we don’t know what) for Sooyoung. Finally, in January this year, SM Entertainment confirmed it by saying, “The dating rumors are true. While they were close as sunbae and hoobae last year, their relationship progressed into that of a couple. Please watch over them fondly.”
3. Nichkhun + Tiffany
About him: 25-year-old Thai-Chinese Nichkhun is a singer and actor. After passing the audition hosted by JYP Entertainment, he was brought to South Korea in 2006 as a trainee. He sings and raps as a member of 2PM, a six-member South Korean boy band.
About her: 24-year-old Tiffany (real name Stephanie Hwang Mi-young) was scouted whilst performing on stage in the US. She was invited to audition at the SM Entertainment Starlight Casting System and joined the company on October 2004 in LA, California. She then went to South Korea and trained for 3 years and 7 months before debuting with SNSD Girls’ Generation.
Their story: The two were seen dating in March this year at an Asian fusion restaurant. Although the idols were trying very hard to not be seen or draw attention to themselves, witnesses noticed their affection for each other. After which, their respective agencies confirmed that they were a couple. SM Entertainment’s rep told Mydaily News, “After being friends, the two grew closer to become lovers.” while JYP Entertainment’s rep told TV Report, “As the reports say, Nichkhun and Tiffany have been dating for about four months now. Please look towards them kindly.”
4. Baekhyun + Taeyeon
About him: 22-year-old Byun Baekhyun joined SM Entertainment in 2011 through the SM Casting System, while he was in the midst of studying for his college musical entrance exams. He debuted with EXO in 2012 and is now the lead vocalist of EXO-K.
About her: 25-year-old Taeyeon is a singer, TV presenter, dancer, actress and promotional model. She was discovered in the 2004 SM Entertainment’s 8th Annual Best Contest where she won “Best Singer 1st Place” & “Grand Award”. She was featured in The One’s song “You Bring Me Joy” before debuting as a SNSD Girls’ Generation member.
Their story: Dispatch reported that Baekhyun and Taeyeon have been dating for 4 months now in secrecy. Apparently, their interest in each other was sparked back in October 2013. After being spotted going on a date, SM Entertainment’s rep told media outlets, “Having started off as close sunbae-hoobae, the two recently developed feelings for each other and are at the beginning stages.” It was also learnt that Baekhyun calls Taeyeon “Taeng-gu” and Taeyeon calls him “Bae-kung” and as a couple they are called as the, “Taeng Kung Couple”.
