Meet Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin’s newborn daughter – her name is Siti Aafiyah Binti Khalid M. Jiwa.
The Malaysian songstress and her husband, Datuk Seri Khalid Mohamad Jiwa (Datuk K), shared their baby’s name to the public last night at 9pm (Sunday, 25th March). The traditional ceremony, was held at their Bukit Antarabangsa residence and streamed live via YouTube.
The 39-year-old singer wore a pale green dress, while the baby girl was dressed in white mittens and a white headband. Siti Nurhaliza’s daughter was previously given a temporary name Fatimah Az-Zahra, which happens to be the name of Prophet Muhammad’s daughter.
The proud parents opted to give birth to their little princess via caesarean section on 19th March, which is also the date of birth of Prophet Muhammad (1 Rejab on the Islamic calender). As aforementioned, Datuk K’s son Asyraf Khalid revealed last week that the 3.55kg infant’s name starts with Siti.
During the aqiqah and tahnik ceremony – religious observances held to celebrate and welcome the newborn – the new mum revealed that her daughter’s chosen name came from her husband who visited Mecca.
“I thank God for answering my prayers throughout these 11 years, a prayer I’ve asked every day – to experience being a mother. The word Aafiyah is found in an ayat doa (prayer). And this ayat doa has been in my heart throughout my pregnancy,” Siti Nurhaliza was quoted as saying. She also shared that the name Siti Aafiyah means “everything that is good”.
In her Instagram post, Siti Nurhaliza wrote, “My husband and I would like to introduce our beloved child to all who have waited patiently for this moment. She is our heart-melting gift from God who has made our lives complete”.
She added, “We wish to thank everyone who had been praying for us all this while and only God can effectively repay you all for your kindness”. The adorable snapshot of Siti Aafiyah has since garnered 718,000 likes (and counting).
