Dato Siti Nurhaliza, or as affectionately dubbed by netizens—TokTi, is not only recognised for her amazing vocals but also her constant compassion and generosity towards the community around her. TokTi, who was married to Datuk K in 2006, has been blessed with two beautiful children, Aafiyah and Afwa.
In her recent video uploaded on YouTube last Friday (12th November 2021), she not only showed generosity to her own children, but also to a random family she met in the store.
According to the video, she initially went to famous toy store, Toys”R”Us, to buy toys for her son, Muhammad Afwa, who was born on 19th April earlier this year. We can see Aafiyah’s cute antics as she chooses toys for Afwa, with Siti’s voiceover layering the video.
She mentioned how different her childhood was from her children’s, saying, “Throughout my childhood, it was very rare for me to get toys. Despite that, I still enjoyed it because there were so many outdoor games and activities that I could do while I was living in the village.“
She kept on expressing her gratitude in the video for the endless gifts from her fans to her children, “I would like to thank all my fans, after I was blessed with Aafiyah and Afwa. They have given me so (many) gifts that a whole room has been filled up with just presents from them.” She then mentioned how we all are blessed with various things, and she has always tried to share her blessings with others, especially her kids. Because to her, happiness and love comes first.
At the counter, she explained how back in the day, it was very different for her because she did not own Barbie dolls, or any of the toys that can be found in the stores nowadays. Instead, she had slippers, leaves and sticks to play with.
While paying for Aafiyah and Afwa’s toys, a woman with two children was queueing behind her. She then proceeded to pay for their chosen toys. “Let Mak Iti pay for those”, TokTi said, addressing herself as “Mak Iti”. This nice gesture left the woman speechless. Not only did she get to meet her idol, but Siti Nurhaliza also paid for her shopping!
