Malaysia’s very own Queen of Rock Ella is spilling nothing but the truth in regards to her past rumoured fling with Rashid Sidek, which has begun resurfacing on social media this week.
Earlier, one Twitter user known as Liyana Abdul had brought up the story about the iconic singer, who was said to have been in a relationship with the badminton legend sometime around the 90s.
In the image shared by the netizen, Ella (full name Nor Zila Aminuddin) could be seen giving Rashid a thumbs up. Due to this, a lot of curious fans have been speculating on whether Ella and Rashid were dating back then.
Afterwards, the 55-year-old songstress came forth to shut down all the rumours about her and Rashid. She clarified on her Twitter, “Gosh, that’s an old story. both of us were just friends. Besides, I’m a fan of the Sidek brothers,” accompanied with a clearer version of the same photo featuring them together.
Ella’s cheeky response was met with plenty of amusing comments left by social media users on Twitter. One netizen even expressed, “At that time, everybody was hoping that Kak El (Ella) would end up with Rashid (Sidek). Wedding of the year. But turns out, you guys were just friends.” To this, the “Retak” singer replied, “Nope, I was waiting for my husband. He was still in school. 🙃”
For those curious, Ella officially tied the knot with her beau, Azhar Ghazali, 38, back in July 2012.
