Just when the public thought it couldn’t get worse, there has been another appalling update to the D4vd-Celeste Rivas case. According to recent reports, police found some disturbing material in the singer’s phone while investigating him for murder.
On 22nd April 2026 (Thursday), D4vd made his second appearance in court after being arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder of Californian teenager Celeste Rivas. In court, the prosecutors revealed new evidence against the singer, whose real name is David Anthony Burke. Most damning, the prosecutors claimed that D4vd had a significant amount of child sex abuse material (CSAM) in form of images on his phone and iCloud account.

Reports say investigators discovered the chilling material through search warrants in the case while authorities were investigating how Celeste died and ended up in D4vd’s abandoned Tesla. However, it’s unclear whether the R&B star will face criminal charges related to the new allegations. D4vd is already facing charges for first-degree murder, sexual abuse of a child and unlawful mutilation of human remains. He pleaded not guilty to all charges.
On a related note, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office released Celeste’s autopsy report earlier this week, outlining how the teenager died. According to the report, the cause of death was “multiple penetrating injuries caused by objects”. The report also ruled Celeste’s death a homicide, and it confirmed that her body was dismembered and heavily decomposed by the time police found her.

For now, D4vd remains held in custody without bail. The court has set the dates for the next two court hearings for next Wednesday (29th April 2026) and Friday (1st May 2026), the latter of which will be the preliminary hearing to decide whether the case has enough evidence to proceed with trial. Meanwhile, D4vd’s legal defence team have maintained they will defend the singer’s innocence.
Netizens have reacted to the new allegations, expressing disgust towards the singer. Many also voiced sympathy towards Celestre and hoped that justice would prevail for the victim.
