Hype Eats: Travel The World With Shucked Oyster Bar + Pizza & Cafe Milano @ Suria KLCC

From the beloved Petronas Twin Towers to the bustling nightlife of Bukit Bintang, Suria KLCC is undoubtedly one of the more iconic spots in this city we call home. If you consider yourself a KL local, then visiting the aforementioned mall is something you’ve probably done a million times over.

Where there is fun, there must always be good food. Luckily for many of us, Suria KLCC is home to a large array of restaurants for customers to choose from. In particular, it’s their Signatures Food Court that really takes the cake.

More Than Just A Food Court

At first glance, Suria KLCC’s Signature Food Court may seem unassuming to most. But let’s be honest, food courts aren’t usually people’s first choice when it comes to grabbing a bite to eat. However, Suria KLCC Signature Food Court is unlike any other. Located in the heart of KL’s most iconic mall, this food court (as well as every restaurant within the mall) is 100% halal, no doubt about it.

If you pay close enough attention, you’ll soon realise that there are no two stores in the food court selling the same cuisine/dish! Everything available here is unique to their own store, allowing for more choices for you to choose from.

But with so many choices, it’s practically impossible for you to give them all a taste in one go. Well, luckily for us, we were happy to have gotten the opportunity to visit two of their vendors this past month!

Taste The Ocean With Shucked Oyster & Seafood Bar

KL Foodie

Seafood and oysters are probably not the first things you’d think of when going to a regular food court, but who said anything about Suria KLCC Signature Food Court being regular?

Established in 2012, Shucked Oyster & Seafood Bar is KL’s first oyster bar, serving a wide range of fresh seafood. Here, they serve fish and chips, traditional Italian dishes as well as oysters from around the world, namely from Ireland, France, Holland, Australia, and New Zealand. While there, we had the chance to try out their Barramundi Fish and Chips, Spanish Seafood Paella, and, of course, their signature oysters – this time flown all the way from Ireland.

While fish and chips may not sound all that fancy, Shucked really elevated what would’ve otherwise been dry fish and soggy chips. The fish was fresh and mouth-wateringly good, while the chips (or fries, if you must) were just the perfect amount of salty and crispy on the outside, and fluffy on the inside. Paired with their tartar sauce homemade vegetable dip, the whole dish was something you can’t afford to miss!

And let’s not forget the main star of the show – their Irish oysters. To say they were fresh would be an understatement, it felt like they were just caught from the ocean just seconds before serving! Our colleague wasn’t much of an oyster fan, but Shucked really changed her mind. It was the first time she had oysters in years, but it definitely won’t be her last!

Travel To Italy At Pizza & Cafe Milano

Everyone loves pizza, but more often than not, some stores can get a bit stingy when it comes to the cheese and toppings on their pizza slices; but not at Pizza & Cafe Milano!

As the name suggests, Pizza & Cafe Milano serves a large array of pizzas along with pastas, lasagnas, desserts and more. During our visit, they were all the more generous with their offerings, from their bolognese pasta to their pepperoni pizza – you name it, we had it!

Watching their workers make their pizzas really showed us just how generous they are with their toppings. Their pizzas were layered with tomato puree, shredded cheese, your toppings of choice, finished off with even more cheese. Talk about a cheese fest!

Among everything that was offered, we have to say that their beef lasagna was our absolute favourite. The creamy and cheesy layered Italian dish is beyond basic human comprehension – that’s how good it was. Once we took our first bite, there was no stopping!

So, the next time you’re looking for a quick and easy place to stop by when you break fast, don’t forget to drop by Suria KLCC Signature Food Court for a bite! You’ll be surprised with what delicacies you can find in there.
