In an interview with Oh Bulan, Emma shared that she has plans to revert to her old image in hijab. According to her, “For every Muslim woman, they always want to strive for the better, and so do I. No one who’s intending to commit evil things will forever remain with that image. I used to don the hijab in the past. God willing, I must go in that direction again (by covering the aurat). When the time comes, I’ll wear it (hijab).”
During the chat, Emma also shared about how her husband was also affected by the criticism. “My husband is also human. When you hear people saying things like, ‘You’re not good at educating wife,’ of course he feels offended. Others would also feel like the reprimand was a bit harsh. I just tell him to just ignore the negative comments. If we entertain them, it will only make things worse,” the “Bicara Cinta” star told the portal.
For those who don’t know, Emma has been married to her non-celebrity beau since February 2020. They have a son together, named Shariq Arshan Gabriel.
