Haute couture and haute cuisine! To mark its 40th anniversary, Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur is reviving a nostalgic city tradition with a stylish twist.
On Saturday, 19th July 2025, the hotel will host An Afternoon in Style, a one-day only fashion and afternoon tea experience held at the elegant Lobby Lounge, in collaboration with Carven Ong Couture.
This exclusive event pairs couture and confections in one unforgettable afternoon. Guests can look forward to a showcase of Carven Ong’s Signature Spring/Summer collection, alongside curated designer bags by Ryan Lee and jewellery pieces by Grace Teoh – three local names known for redefining Malaysian elegance with a contemporary edge.
The celebration throws it back to the 80s and 90s heyday of fashion teas, where KL’s social scene came alive every weekend. Now, that same glamour returns with a modern refresh.
To complete the experience, Shangri-La’s chefs have created a special 40th Anniversary Afternoon Tea, featuring artisanal savories, sweets, and premium teas – served with the warm, graceful hospitality the hotel is known for.
