Everyone knows the common ‘love triangle’ trope. Guy likes girl, girl likes guy and is liked by another guy in turn. However, a recent love triangle found in China had a very weird twist to it. For one thing, it involves the girl’s dad.
Recently, a commotion took place on the streets of Shanghai, China. Apparently, an older man got into a fight with his daughter’s boyfriend over their relationship. He apparently insisted they break up. However, it wasn’t because he disapproved of them. Apparently, the dad has feelings for the boyfriend too!
According to China Press, the father had been the one to encounter the boyfriend first. They had supposedly met online and the dad fell for the boy. However, he hid the fact by introducing his daughter to the boy instead. He supposedly hoped that this would shorten the distance between them. Unfortunately for him, this only sparked the two into going out.
The older man eventually couldn’t stand the two being close and confronted the boy publicly. Their dispute drew a crowd with policemen present at the scene. During the confrontation, the man demanded the boy give up on his relationship with the girl. But things took a twist when the boy revealed they apparently had sex together when the man came to his house. “Why do you want me to touch your dick?” he shouted. He also declared the man a “scumbag“.
Instead of this chasing the man off, the man apparently asked the boy to marry him on the spot. “I will get a marriage license with you tomorrow,” the boy stated. “Will you go?” The father agreed, saying: “Let’s go get the license. You (should) support me anyway, I’m retired, an old man.” Needless to say, their argument-turned-proposal left the audience dumbfounded.
Unfortunately for the new couple, they were later detained by the police. Apparently, their confrontation had inadvertently affected the area’s traffic. Well, we’re not sure how the daughter/girlfriend is going to take the news. Who knows? Maybe it’ll spark another public argument again.
