Following the success of BSS (부석순), JxW (정한 X 원우) and Hoshi X Woozi (호시 X 우지), SEVENTEEN (세븐틴) is set to debut another subunit! Group members S.Coups (에스쿱스) and Mingyu (민규) are making their debut as a subunit this September with a new album.
Korean news outlets recently reported that the two SEVENTEEN members will debut in a subunit as a duo. This debut marks the K-pop group’s fourth official subunit. While the subunit has yet to unveil its name, the debut is set for sometime in September. S.Coups and Mingyu also recently completed the filming for their debut music video in Los Angeles, California.
Speculation of an S.Coups and Mingyu subunit arose a few months back after the two were in Hawaii together. While the trip seemed like a regular holiday, fans theorised that the two were in the United States to work on an album. Earlier this month, fans spotted the two filming for a project in LA, further cementing the subunit rumours. S.Coups and Mingyu also attended a recent LA Dodgers match, which many believe was to build hype for their upcoming debut.
Fans have already expressed excitement about the new subunit, saying they look forward to the debut. Some netizens who chanced upon the music video filming set also mentioned that there will likely be scenes of the members at the beach, adding to fans’ anticipation. Given S.Coups and Mingyu’s reputation amongst fans as SEVENTEEN’s resident heartthrobs, Korean media has also dubbed the debut as “SEVENTEEN’s Hot Guys Unit”.
Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN is gearing up for their upcoming concert tour, “NEW_”. The world tour will kick off with a two-day show at the Incheon Asiad Main Stadium on 13th and 14th September 2025 (Saturday and Sunday). However, only nine out of thirteen members will be performing because four members, Jeonghan (정한), Wonwoo (원우), Hoshi (호시) and Woozi (우지), will undergo their mandatory military service.
