Pictures of the aftermath of the Seremban wet market fire are now being heavily circulated on social media.

For those of you who missed it, on 9th September 2017 (Saturday), a massive fire engulfed the top floor of the iconic market.

The fire, which is believed to have started at around 7:30pm, took the efforts of 2 Seremban fire and rescue stations to put out. It was finally extinguished at about 10pm. According to the Seremban Fire and Rescue Department, 80% of the top floor, which is lined with dozens of hawker stalls, was destroyed.

The top floor of the market is most well known for being the place where the first and original tasty beef noodles is sold. Local tourists would travel from all over Malaysia and flock to Seremban wet market to savour the dish. Understandably, netizens were crushed when they realised that the fire could have destroyed the stall.

Netizens have been sharing images of the destruction left behind by the fire on social media, of blackened walls, charred debris, broken grills, and shutters that have fallen apart.

However, in what appears to be a magical stroke of luck, the Seremban beef noodles survived the inferno. Images showed that the stall was untouched by the flames. In fact, according to the Negeri Sembilan Events Facebook page, the hawker was surprised to find that everything in his stall was intact, including the kitchen utensils, gas tanks, plastic wrappers, and sheets of paper.

It is not known if the images were old or new, or photoshopped. But if it is indeed legit then what sorcery is this?! ?

Meanwhile, MCA Youth chief Datuk Chong Sin Woon said that a discussion with the market trader’s association has been conducted to find the best way to help the victims. Among the measures identified is to provide zero-interest loans through Koperasi Jayadiri Malaysia Bhd. They are also planning to relocate the traders affected by the fire to operate their business temporarily at the parking lot.
