Apart from her royal duties, HRH Princess Tengku Zatashah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah of Selangor is also known for meeting and befriending international celebrities, particularly those who have visited Malaysia on multiple occasions. This year alone, she has met around eight K-pop idols, and it’s likely she’ll meet more in 2025.
Before bidding farewell to 2024, the Selangor Princess managed to meet one more idol group: Stray Kids (스트레이 키즈). She attended their concert in Jakarta, Indonesia, and teased fans about a special announcement involving the boy group. Here’s the story:
Over the weekend, Tengku Zatashah posted a photo on Instagram of herself with the members of Stray Kids and their managers after their “DominATE World Tour” concert in Jakarta. “When they were told I’m from Malaysia, Bang Chan and Felix said, ‘Oh, we would love to come to Malaysia,’ and I replied, ‘Please do, that would make your STAYS very happy.’ What a phenomenal way to end my 2024,” she wrote in the caption.
As expected, many were excited about her photo with the idol group, but what really had everyone talking was when Her Royal Highness replied to her own post, saying: “So Malaysian STAYS, I have a little surprise for you! Stay tuned, I will announce tomorrow [Monday, 23rd December].” The teaser blew up all over social media with fans speculating what the announcement might be.
Many, of course, were hoping it would be a concert or at least an announcement for a fan meet event, while others expressed doubt that it could be anything worth getting excited about, reminding themselves not to get their hopes up. Fans were right to manage their expectations, as Tengku Zatashah revealed earlier this morning that it was, in fact, a special giveaway.
The Selangor Royal is currently hosting a giveaway contest, with four lucky winners set to receive exclusive Stray Kids merchandise. Below are the details on how to participate:

- Comment your favourite Stray Kids song and why
- Like the Reel and share it to your IG Story
- Tag a friend who is also a STAY
- Winners will be announced on 28th December
