Admittedly, not everyone is a fan of April Fools’ Day. However, K-Pop fans often look forward to the day to see what their favourite fansites have to share. In case you’re unfamiliar, fansites are accounts dedicated to a specific idol or group that share photos or fancams they took at events and concerts.
When 1st April rolls in, many fansites ditch their usual content and take the opportunity to share photos of other people for fun. This tradition has been ongoing for many years, creating some memorable moments in the K-Pop industry. Of course, this year is no different, with fansites sharing photos of non-idol individuals. Here are some examples:
Security Guards & Managers

Since security personnel and managers often work closely with idols, it’s no surprise that fansites have shared many photos of staff members on duty on April Fools’ Day. This year, a fansite for AMPERS&ONE’s Jiho shared photos of the group’s security guard, instantly sparking interest for his actor-like looks.
Company CEOs

Like idols, CEOs and executives often make public appearances at events, creating the perfect opportunity for fansites to photograph them. This year, Samsung’s executive chairman Lee Jaeyong and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang received the fansite treatment, complete with dramatic lighting and crisp editing.
Athletes

Athletes are no strangers to being photographed, but it’s a whole different story when a K-Pop fansite is behind the camera. The results are incredibly dynamic images that look like those taken by top sports photographers. Of course, the athletes themselves also have their visuals redefined with proper editing.
BONUS – Animals

Besides humans, fansites have also shared photos they’ve taken of the animals they met at zoos and other wildlife parks. Funnily enough, even animals can’t escape the fansite treatment, getting fancams of themselves frolicking around in their enclosures.
