The Malaysian food and beverage industry was severely harmed by the pandemic, and as the world begins to recover and phase out the endemic, it is now time for the industry as a whole to rekindle its past years of providing consumers with unique and different experiences.
Malaysia’s Top 30 is an established programme designed to enhance the food and beverage industry as a whole, as well as its major business partners, by assisting outlet operators in marketing their locations at this annual award event. Introduced to us that night, was The Malaysia’s Top 30 Bars Award, the first in a series of awards, which will recognise the top bars in Malaysia in 2022, and for the first time a top beer bar will be identified too.
“We are celebrating the country’s top cocktail and beer bars along with bartenders as a platform to raise the standards and recognise the bar and beverage services in the country. This will also gain prominence in the local and international markets in providing Malaysian bars and bartending talents the opportunity,” Mr. Alvin Sinclair, the founder of Malaysia’s Top 30 award programme, stated.
Alvin added, “One of the ideas of Malaysia’s Top 30 Bar Awards is to create a continuity right after the awards. For example, we created the cocktail series whereby all 30 bars will participate in this campaign to create the Top 30 best cocktails in Malaysia along with best beer bars by our beer partners which will be showcased next year. We will also have multiple Whiskey Masterclasses too and towards the end to celebrate this amazing achievement we have the Main Gala Night.”
The 2022 award programme will begin with nominations from 220 bars across Peninsular Malaysia, which will then be shortlisted into 100 bars, with a group of industry-selected juries evaluating the bars to make the final cut of 50 bars before the full list of the Top 30 bars is presented at the year’s end gala award.
