After years of refusing to join Instagram, Hollywood star Sandra Bullock has finally made the step onto the platform. Earlier today (Wednesday, 15th April 2026), the actress made her long-awaited Instagram debut, receiving a sea of welcoming comments from fans and friends.
In case you’re wondering, Sandra has never opened an Instagram account despite multiple calls for her to join the popular social media platform. When calling out individuals who were impersonating her on the site last year, she even said, “Please be aware I do not participate in any form of social media.”
However, it seems that sometime between then and now, Sandra changed her mind about social media and finally jumped onto Instagram. Within hours of opening her account, the actress has amassed over 4 million followers. Her first post, a video captioned with a reference to her 1998 movie “Practical Magic”, received over a million views in the first four hours.
Unsurprisingly, fans and celebrity friends were excited about Sandra’s Instagram debut. Stars like Nicole Kidman, Sarah Paulson, Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon all shared welcoming comments on her first post, with Reese even quipping that “IG just got a lot better”. The actresses also shared the news on their respective Instagram accounts.
Sandra’s Instagram debut also comes as she and Nicole attend CinemaCon to tease their upcoming sequel “Practical Magic 2”. During the Warner Bros. panel, the pair gave fans a hint at what they can expect from the new movie, including more “midnight margaritas”. The movie is slated for release on 18th September 2026.
Only time will tell what Sandra will post on Instagram next, or if she’ll remain active on the platform. Nevertheless, we hope she has fun interacting with friends and fans.
