Recently, NBA superstar Kyrie Irving embarked on his 2024 China and Southeast Asia Tour, assuming dual roles as ANTA’s Chief Creative Officer and Creative Director for the highly anticipated “The Art of Movement” fashion show. This event marked the debut of the ANTA Hélà lifestyle collection, a fusion of art, movement, basketball, and fashion, creating a unique athletic look that only Kyrie can bring to life.
This shoe holds a special place in the NBA’s superstar’s heart as it pays homage to his father, Drederick Irving, who contributed to the creation of the sneaker. It also pays tribute to the basketball player’s mother, Elizabeth Irving, whose love and strength paved the way for his success.
The sneaker’s design has a lot of significance. The predominant shade of purple is Elizabeth Irving’s favourite colour, and blue accents pay homage to Drederick’s favourite colour. This thoughtful combination of colours is a visual representation of their connection. The “Twin Flame” concept is symbolised by the convergence of two flame graphics on the lace loops, which add flair to the overall design along with gold detailing and orange accents. It is a worthy homage to a partnership that had a significant impact on Kyrie.
Another standout feature of the sneaker is the “Big Mountain, Little Mountain” design stamped on the midfoot outsole. This symbolises Kyrie and Drederick’s father-son relationship, their shared journey, and the strength that is passed down from one generation to the next.

If NBA players aren’t partnering up with shoe labels, they’re making their own. This is especially true for the Boston Celtics star, Jaylen Brown, and his newly formed brand, “741.”
The athlete took to Instagram to reveal 741’s first ever sneaker, “Rover.” The shoe features an all-black mesh upper and slip-on technology, which is quite bold for performance-focused footwear that is meant to protect the feet while on the court.
The proprietary translucent rubber provides high traction and a lightweight feeling on the court, allowing you to bob and weave without being weighed down. Another significant upgrade to this shoe is the external counter, a moulded barrier that creates the perfect heat seal by holding the heel in place, and the internal counter that is moulded from heavy-duty thermoplastic, which provides as much stability as a hiking boot and distributes underfoot pressure to optimise the effectiveness of the midsole
