The 46-year-old former pop star was found dead in New York on Friday (3rd March). The cause of death is still unknown but according to reports from several friends, it was an apparent suicide.

As a pop star, Tommy enjoyed a remarkable career in the music industry. He’s most well known for his #1 hit, “I’ll Be Your Everything“, which was written by him, along with New Kids on the Block’s (NKOTB) Jordan Knight and Danny Wood. He’s also known to be closely associated to NKOTB, having worked with them on their music back in 1989.

NKOTB has since taken to social media to send their thoughts and prayers.

The reminders of how precious life is, are all around us. Yet, we so often take the present moment for granted.

Be #Thankful for today.

“We are all mourning the loss of our friend and colleague Tommy Page. He was a magnetic soul and a true entertainer. Our thoughts are with his family,” said Billboard Entertainment Group President John Amato.

Despite holding so many titles in the music industry, Tommy continued to record and perform regularly, particularly in Asia. He was last here in Malaysia “Retrofest Asia 2015” in Sunway Lagoon.

As a songwriter and record executive, he helped guide the careers of other artistes including Alanis Morissette, Michael Buble, and Green Day. Closer to home, he worked with Malaysian singer and actress Amy Mastura to release a duet titled, “The Best Part”. It was released in 1996.

His family has also released a statement on his passing. “It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of our beloved Tommy Page who passed away this weekend. Tommy was a devoted father, husband, brother and son. He was loved by all of those he touched and will be sorely missed. Please respect our privacy at this time of deep sorrow,” the statement read.

Tommy leaves behind his partner Charlie and their 3 children.
