A word of caution to folks living in Wangsa Maju and Setapak – have you visited Restaurant Ali Maju lately?

According to Oriental Daily, 2 employees who work at Restaurant Ali Maju have been suspected to have contracted Covid-19. As a result, the restaurant located at Sri Rampai has been issued a closure notice under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988. This is to allow the Federal Territory Health Department to carry out a thorough sanitisation process.

The owner of the restaurant said that ever since restaurants were allowed to open, Restaurant Ali Maju has adhered to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by the government. No word yet on how the suspected individuals got the deadly disease.  The Chinese publication shared that residents living nearby the vicinity made a report to the authorities in regards to the restaurant employees.

Customers who visited Restaurant Ali Maju between 1st- 14th August are strongly advised to get tested for Covid-19 and self-quarantine at home. Since word got out, many netizens have been expressing their growing concern.

In case you didn’t know, another case of Covid-19 was detected in Genting Court Condominium at Setapak just last week. “Genting Court at Setapak, has just announced that one of their residents tested positive for Covid-19 today (7th August). The said resident is a young Myanmar girl staying with her family in Genting Court. The rest of her family are being quarantined in their unit,” the memo explained.
