Looking forward to usher in wealth, luck, and good fortune during this Lunar New Year? Instead of settling for one of the usual Chinese restaurants in town, why not celebrate the reunion dinner at Resorts World Genting?
Aside from the chilling weather at 1800 metres high and endless entertainment value, you can also celebrate the auspicious Year of the Earth Dog with some heavenly selection of Chinese New Year dishes that warms the heart. All festive lunch and dinner menu will be available starting from 15th February (CNY eve) till 2nd March (Chap Goh Mei). Acclaimed dining outlets in Genting Highlands include Imperial Rama and Ming Ren.
1. Imperial Rama
Best known as a Chinese-Thai fusion restaurant, Imperial Rama has made a name for itself incorporating the best of authentic Chinese cuisine and traditional Thai flavours to enhanced the dishes. During this festive season, diners will get to “lou” the rich selection of Silver Fish Yee Sang with Mango (you can opt to switch it to salmon).
Prepared by Chef Ng Chin Kim, we were served (from left to right) Sea Cucumber stuffed with Seafood Paste and dried shrimps, “Zhenjiang”-style Iberico Pork, and Prosperity Bags stuffed with seafood paste. Although the Sea Cucumber may not look super appetising, we surprise at how good it tasted.
The Prosperity Bags dish (that’s the one with the fish pop up) was easily our favourite of the day. It comes with crab meat and crab roe with misuzu aburage and mixed with Hua Tiao (which is a type of wine that nicely balance the food taste).

2. Ming Ren
Ming Ren is claimed to specialise in lamb cuisine. Besides their lamb specials, visitors can also pamper themselves with the restaurant’s blend of Cantonese culinary dishes. We had the chance to try their Steamed Turbot (a Szechuan-style sea fish) that came with tofu and tomatoes decorated around the fish. Servings also include deep fried crispy prawns with mayonnaise, braised assorted vegetables with fatt choy, and Honey roasted Hong Kong style chicken wings.
If we had to pick a favourite, it’ll have to be the deep fried crispy prawns with mayonnaise. The magic ingredient are the slices of strawberries. Separately, they taste like typical prawns and strawberries. But when eaten together, that’s when you get the burst of complementary flavours.

3. Burger & Lobster
The first and only Burger & Lobster outlet recently celebrated its first anniversary at SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting. Since its debut, the popular hasn’t slowed down one bit as the queue is consistently long. Is it a surprise though?
